Redemption is from:

1. The bondage of the law.

(Galatians 4:5) To redeem them that were under the law, that we might receive the adoption of sons.  (KJV)

2. The curse of the law.

(Galatians 3:13) Christ hath redeemed us from the curse of the law, being made a curse for us: for it is written, Cursed is every one that hangeth on a tree:  (KJV)

3. The power of sin.

(Romans 6:18) Being then made free from sin, ye became the servants of righteousness.  (KJV)
(Romans 6:22) But now being made free from sin, and become servants to God, ye have your fruit unto holiness, and the end everlasting life.  (KJV)

4. The power of the grave.

(Psalms 49:15) But God will redeem my soul from the power of the grave: for he shall receive me. Selah.  (KJV)

5. All troubles.

(Psalms 25:22) Redeem Israel, O God, out of all his troubles.  (KJV)

6. All iniquity.

(Psalms 130:8) And he shall redeem Israel from all his iniquities.  (KJV)
(Titus 2:14) Who gave himself for us, that he might redeem us from all iniquity, and purify unto himself a peculiar people, zealous of good works.  (KJV)

7. All evil.

(Genesis 48:16) The Angel which redeemed me from all evil, bless the lads; and let my name be named on them, and the name of my fathers Abraham and Isaac; and let them grow into a multitude in the midst of the earth.  (KJV)

8. The present evil world.

(Galatians 1:4) Who gave himself for our sins, that he might deliver us from this present evil world, according to the will of God and our Father:  (KJV)

9. Vain conversation.

(1 Peter 1:18) Forasmuch as ye know that ye were not redeemed with corruptible things, as silver and gold, from your vain conversation received by tradition from your fathers;  (KJV)

10. Enemies.

(Psalms 106:10-11) And he saved them from the hand of him that hated them, and redeemed them from the hand of the enemy. And the waters covered their enemies: there was not one of them left.  (KJV)
(Jeremiah 15:21) And I will deliver thee out of the hand of the wicked, and I will redeem thee out of the hand of the terrible.  (KJV)

11. Death.

(Hosea 13:14) I will ransom them from the power of the grave; I will redeem them from death: O death, I will be thy plagues; O grave, I will be thy destruction: repentance shall be hid from mine eyes.  (KJV)

12. Destruction.

(Psalms 103:4) Who redeemeth thy life from destruction; who crowneth thee with lovingkindness and tender mercies;  (KJV)

Two truths about redemption:

1. Man cannot effect redemption.

(Psalms 49:7) None of them can by any means redeem his brother, nor give to God a ransom for him:  (KJV)

2. Corruptible things cannot purchase redemption.

(1 Peter 1:18) Forasmuch as ye know that ye were not redeemed with corruptible things, as silver and gold, from your vain conversation received by tradition from your fathers;  (KJV)

Have you been redeemed?
